Introduction

Enjoy your time away knowing that your pets, plants and home are cared for as if you were home. Hi, I've been taking care of dogs in one form or another (such as showing and grooming) for over 25 years. I have begun pet sitting as a service to friends who show dogs and recently I have expanded to business to include pet owners who live in my area. I may soon expand beyond my area if my heart takes me in that direction.

My dog has some special needs, a few easy medicines that she needs daily. But another issue is her nervousness with new people. She usually adapts very quickly to a new person, but it has to be handled slowly at first, then it is as if they have known each other their whole life!! That is how it is with Sorba, she loves Bev now, but was nervous in the beginning, all it took was a little time, and Bev was willing to come to get to know her. We know she is in good hands now when we leave town.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
most pet & house sitting clients pay between $80 - $100 per 24 hr day for the care of multiple dogs, cats, birds, plants, home etc. variations depend on duties performed. We can decide that before booking of service.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is best to meet as soon as possible to make sure we are a good fit. Mutual trust is utmost importance. Then asbout 2 hours before you leave on your trip we go over details. This can be done the day before if morning of trip is too hectic. Each individual is taken into consideration when deciding how this shall be done. Then when next time comes, all goes so much smoother being aquainted with the routine.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of grooming (all breeds) showing and training Afghan hounds has prepared me for how I now interact with the pets of others.
