FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For Murals: $15-$35 per square foot The cost for each particular project can better be determined after we've discussed the size and complexity of your design, the type of wall and equipment needed. I also have in mind the cost of materials and traveling cost. I always try to give my clients different options depending on their budget. Less detail = lower cost. Very realistic look with a lot of details = higher cost For a Commissioned Painting: We begin by determining the concept and the size of the painting. After we decide all the details, I paint a small sketch to work out the general composition and idea of the painting. Once you approve the sketch, I complete the final piece. Commissions might take up to 6 weeks to be completed. All commissions require a 50% non-refundable deposit before work begins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There are a few things I need my customers to do: 1. Measure the size of the wall If the wall is 8ftx7ft, the size is 8x7=56 sq.ft 2. Determine the wall texture - this is an important step because some textures take longer to be painted and also require more paint- big grooves, stucco with big holes in it, etc. 3. Share your design/idea- there is a one time (non-refundable) design fee of $150 that goes towards the overall cost of the mural. I'll create a few mock-ups to make sure I can bring your idea to live in a way you will love. 4. Approval of design- Once I have approval for the mock-up design, we set a date. I'll send out an invoice and a contract. 5. BIG DAY- Once the contract is signed, a deposit of 50% is required, the other 50% is to be paid upon completion of the mural. Now we are good to go! :-)
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been passionate about art ever since I can remember but I've never thought I'd choose art as a career until my creative journey was sparked by life's unpredictability. The profound loss of my spouse set the course for my career. In the midst of grief, I turned to painting as a means of healing, creating pieces in the quiet of the night, mostly for my one-year-old daughter. It didn't take long for me to realize that art was my calling, a path I needed to pursue as a livelihood. My passion for art is driven by my desire to create happiness for my customers through my creativity and to spread positive energy through my paintings, prints and murals. Aside from my talent I truly want to spread awareness of how powerful hope can be and how important it is to be present and believe in your dreams.
