FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge the standard handyman rate per hour. However, I am happy to work per project and quote a per project price for those that do not want to discuss hourly rates. It's not always easy to determine the scope of work online or via a message, and more cases I've been able to discount the advertise price due to the amount of work that actually needed to be done. Happy to discuss this but as a default the average hourly rate is the standard to go by. Due to some jobs having more work behind the surface that you cannot see until starting, some estimates may exceed the estimated quoted time and I will do my best to update you should new issues be discovered. I prefer to do a good job rather than cut corners or cover over a problem.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy communicating and like to contact clients via text message first, then for more details discuss over the phone things such as materials and logistics and timing. Customers are always invited to call me anytime about their project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My family has owned numerous rental properties in Florida and in North Carolina. For more than 30 years I have been doing the traditional handyman projects that do not require a contractor to complete. These are things such as picking out faucets and installing faucets, removing and replacing ceiling fans with a new ceiling fan, adding security cameras to exterior of homes or adding baby monitor systems inside of homes. You can pretty much consider me the person to contact when you can't get a hold of the contractor or if you think a contractor quote is beyond your budget. I will not do work that does absolutely require a contractor but there are numerous cases where a contractor is not required and I would be happy to help out.
