- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
●Discounted rates are available for students who take monthly lessons. I will provide more information at our first session/lesson.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
■Step 1■ Schedule a first meeting/session ●Please let me know a few dates/times that you like to have our first meeting online. ●We will discuss details concerning your future lessons (focus and goals of your learning, weakness in the subject, etc.), lesson schedule, cost, etc. If you have any questions, please ask me during the first meeting. ●Our first meeting is free. (A short trial lesson is optional if both of our schedules allow it.) ■Step 2■ Decide communication method ●I prefer using Zoom for lessons. I will provide a link to my Zoom meeting room. ●If Zoom is not an option for you, we can use other methods such as Skype. If you choose Skype, please add me in your Skype contacts. I will provide my Skype ID, or you may give me your Skype ID. ■Step 3■ Establish your payment method ●Please send me your tuition through PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp before the day of your first lesson. ●As soon as I receive your payment, I will reserve the days/times for your lesson(s), so that other students will not schedule a lesson during the time frame. ■Step 4■ First lesson Let's get started! My lessons are tailored to each student. ■■■Japanese Lessons■■■ ◇I will ask questions such as: ● Purpose of learning Japanese (example: preparing for a trip to Japan, to be able to talk with Japanese employees, pass the JLPT test) ●Goals and focus areas (example: grammar, speech, reading, writing) ◇I will also perform : ●Assessment of student's Japanese level ◇Based on the assessment, I build a curriculum for the student. I may suggest a textbook/workbook or lesson materials that I prepare and customize for student's goals. I am open to suggestions, as student's satisfaction in learning outcome is very important to me. ●Setting up a lesson schedule Based on the above information, I will suggest a few lesson schedules. We will look at our mutually available days/times for lessons. ■■■[Math/SAT/ACT lessons■■■ ◇I will ask questions such as: ●Purpose of taking lessons (example: to improve test score) ●Goals and focus areas (example: ideal ACT score) ◇I may ask or take a look at: ●Student's recent quizzes and tests ◇I will also go over actual math problems and check student's approach to answering problems. ◇Most times, students already have a textbook or workbook. In that case, we will use them during our lessons. ◇In some cases, I may suggest using an extra textbook/workbook, or lesson materials that I prepare and customize for the student's goals, or a combination of both. ●Setting up a lesson schedule Based on the above information, I will suggest a few lesson schedules. We will look at our mutually available days/times for lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
■■■ Japanese ■■■ I am originally from Japan, and Japanese is my native language. I am also fluent in English. I have years of experience in teaching the Japanese language and culture, and I usually customize lessons to suit each student's learning goals and needs. I am sure you will enjoy my lessons! ■■■Translation Skill■■■ English/Japanese translation skill test score: 100% (taken on 06-30-2016) ■■■ Math ■■■ I worked as a math tutor in college in Japan. Since I came to the States, I have worked at a tutoring service and taught various areas of math at the university that I attended. I can customize lessons to suit each student's learning goals and needs. I am sure you will enjoy my lessons! ■■■Teaching Experiences■■■ I have over 20 years of experience as a classroom instructor and as an online tutor in various subjects. I have a Master's degree in Psychology. During my lessons and when creating student's curriculum, I apply psychological principles of learning, cognitive process, and memory mechanism. My teaching style depends on the student. I change my teaching techniques to fit the level and personality of each student.
