Julie L. says, "I am in my late 50’s and my daughter in her early 20’s, and although we love each other, we were struggling to communicate without it almost always ending in a mild to horrible argument. This can range from topics about school, money, life, her childhood, my mothering skills, and on and on… I was looking for a local counselor to work with and Thumbtack popped up during my search. Once I was on the website I was searching for a woman therapist that would work with a couple (not married) and I eventually narrowed down my search to Solange with Heartfelt Therapeutic services. Having sessions with Solange and my daughter is one of the single best things I have done in my life. It has been 7 weeks so far and I feel such joy, calm, strength and openness with my daughter. Solange is a professional that brings real life skill to her counseling practice. It never feels like a forced session in which we must get something accomplished. Since my daughter and I are 40 miles apart, the virtual sessions are perfect for our needs. Once we enter the sessions we never know what will come up, but it is always just what we need. We have both learned so much about ourselves and each other which allows for lighter and deeper conversations when my daughter and I are together. We both look forward to our weekly sessions with Solange. She is always punctual and responsive to our needs while skillfully guiding us to important self discovery and appreciation for each other and our relationship. She provides actual tools to use when thinking about and communicating with the other person. We only have a brief moment on this earth so why not love and enjoy it as much as you can. The beautiful thing is that I also know that we will have difficult discussions and arguments in the future but this time I feel capable of handling myself and responding in a healthy manner with my daughter.
