Introduction

I provide custom artwork and illustrations for recipes, books, branding, packaging and products. I also teach weekly art classes and hold Open Studio hours from my home art studio, A Create Place. When teaching, I love learning about people's hopes, histories and styles. I enjoy helping people relax and learn skills and techniques that enable them to create art and paint without fear. One of the most rewarding aspects of creating custom art and design is the opportunity to design, refine and refresh client's walls and brands. We'll discover what you are "for" and what you are "not for." Then we'll work on creating imagery that communicates your message. Your art will be customized for your home or businesses color palette. Educational background is a degree in visual communication from The Ohio State University. General Pricing: Custom Recipe Illustration: $350 Custom Watercolor Art: $500 to $1,000 depending on the complexity of the project. Live Painting for weddings: $1500 Local Classes or Open Studio Time: $25 for 2 hour block Paint Parties: $30 per person (10 person or $300 minimum) Pricing for Custom Logo Package is: $450 package

We've work with Caryn in a couple of different ways, and we couldn't imagine working with anyone else! Caryn created an amazing logo for our company. We had an initial collaboration meeting, then Caryn delivered several designs for us to choose from. After selecting our favorite, Caryn was able to mold it into a piece that was perfect for our company. We also have a 6th grader who takes an art class with Caryn. As a teacher, she is so patient and encouraging! Our child has not only grown in skill, but has also gained in confidence. The class is definitely the highlight of his week! We love Caryn and her down-to-earth ways. She is so genuine and caring. It has been a true pleasure and privilege to work with her!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My art classes cost $15 per group class and $45 an hour for private art lessons. Creative services are bid on a per project bases. I'd be happy to speak with you over the phone, in person or via e-mail to decide if I am a good fit for you.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If the customer is hiring me for classes, I typically provide an art theory lesson then paint with the student for what time is left and have them finish the piece for homework. If a client is interested in creative services, we meet first and discuss their art needs. Then I will provide a quote based on the amount of hours a project will take.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended The Ohio State University and studied visual communication under their design department.
