FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are traditionally at most half the cost of roofing companies due to the facts that my overhead is low and I work alone. Most repairs I've done range in the $250-500 range. On repairs $500 or over I do ask for security deposit of half. That ensures a locked in appt, and secures materials needed for job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a total of 28yrs. . in the roofing industry. I worked for 2 companies that were focused mainly on commercial businesses that is until the 04 hurricanes. At that juncture all companies got more involved in residential roof repairs because the out of state companies came to "help" did such poor work while gouging homeowners and the insurance companies. So, not only can I repair rubber ( TPO- Firestone) roofs. I also have the ability to repair; shingle, built up, single-ply,metal, tile, and slate roofs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
While living in Tampa Fla. I worked for a company called Professional Craftsmen and Handyman. I had been in the construction field since 1984. We had the opportunity to make repairs to several residential roofs at the time. So that's how I was initially introduced. Then, when I moved here in 2002 I went straight to a roofing company. The first company i was with for 10yrs. Initially i learned to repair commercial properties ( TPO rubber- built up- torchdown) Then when the Hurricanes hit in 2004 I was responsible for going behind roofing companies and repairing their problems to residential homes. I have experience in all roof types ( shingles, torch down, single ply rubber, build up Rock roofs. and tile, slate ) the only thing I do not have any experience in repairs is wood shakes.
