Tara's Portrait Drawing Lessons and Commissions

My name is Tara Scott. I am a Portrait Drawing Artist and Art Instructor in Orlando Florida. My area of expertise is working with pastel portraits of people and animals on paper or on a canvas. I am a mobile art service business traveling to your home or preferred location (15 miles from my home). In 2004 and 2005, I began teaching Basic Drawing to children ages (5-8), and Portrait Drawing to for ages (9-17) at the Michael's Arts and Crafts located in Waldorf MD. I have experience working with private homeschool groups and churches in Maryland. I also have experience as an Substitute Teacher and Tutor with the Charles County Public Schools (Laplata Maryland) and Orange County Public Schools (Orlando Florida). Two of my portrait artworks (Barack Obama, and Louis Armstrong) were featured in our local Washington DC newspaper called the "City Paper". I have also received recognition for my portrait artwork entitled (“Innocent Eyes”) at the Portrait Society of Atlanta GA. I was selected to participate as an artist at the Black Heritage Art Show in Baltimore, MD in (2011), and the International Art Show at the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD (2012). My acrylic painting (“Butterfly Landing on a Cone Flower”) was on display at the Lowes House Office Building/House of Delegates in Annapolis, MD from (January 6, 2020 to April 6, 2020). I am excited about teaching portrait drawing to individuals and groups who are trying to improve on their artistic skills, add an artistic curriculum to their school program, employee work distress retreat, or someone looking to start a new hobby. At this time, I am only offering portrait drawing lessons for ages (12 to adults). The curriculum I use teaches individuals how to use charcoal, graphite, pencil, soft pastels, and oil pastels using the grid method to create a realistic likeness of people and animal. I offer my service for private, semi-private, community groups, church groups, senior groups, work groups (3 to 12 people), and Middle School and High School Homeschool groups. I received my Associates Arts Degree in Studio Art from Prince Georges Community College(Largo, Maryland. I also received my Bachelor's of Art degree in Visual Performing Arts (Film and Video) from the University of Maryland Baltimore MD.
