Thank you for sharing your feedback, Ooana. I sincerely apologize that this is how you feel, as this is not what I aspire to. However, as a business owner, I understand that there are always opportunities for improvement. I appreciate you sharing your perspective, though there are some details that I would like to clarify. I was officially booked to start planning your wedding almost exactly 2 months prior to your wedding day. At this time, I was completely capable of planning this smaller event within a short timespan. A large percentage of my clients book me inside of 12 months for their wedding, so I have experience with a wide variety of timeframes. After finding you a venue you loved, a rabbi to marry you, and recommending and communicating with almost all of the vendors needed to execute your wedding day, you notified me that you were thinking about postponing your wedding. You also brought up the idea of eloping and canceling the event. We spoke about this and the different options available, and you communicated to me that you would like to put a full pause on planning until you sort through your decision. At the end of that week, I sent you an email making you aware that due to the short planning period, I would need to know a final decision on which route you would like to take. You decided that you would like to move forward with an engagement ceremony and possibly elope. After this, you notified me again that you were thinking about just postponing everything and then once again canceling. This continued into the following week. At that point, I felt as though the scope of work was constantly changing. While I aim to be flexible and understanding of difficult situations, in order to plan properly, I do need to know what type of event I’m planning. Regarding the vibe board, while we did not get to reviewing it in the planning process, I went ahead and created it early on due to the fast-paced timeline. Three of the images on the vibe board came directly from the Pinterest board you shared with me. Another image is inside the reception room of the venue booked. You also told me early on that you would love soft-serve ice cream or gelato at your wedding, as well as hearts incorporated in some way. I hope this gives some clarity as to why the selected pictures were used. As stated in my contract, my retainer is non-refundable, specifically to hold your wedding date and for the hours of labor spent thus far planning your wedding. While I did try to offer a fair solution to remedy the situation, you declined this offer. While you have informed me that your wedding at the venue was canceled, should you move forward with planning a wedding in the future, I hope all of the advice, conversations, vendor recommendations, and planning materials that I sent you help inspire your vision to come to life.
