I would have selected all five of the above. Notwithstanding the dismal fact that rodents had taken over my attic, this was a great experience. Conner is a delightful young man. Thank you.

Details: Rats or mice • Animal trapping and removal • Sealing of entry or exit points • 1-2 animals • Kitchen • 1,000 - 2,000 sq ft • Owner

Dr critter took care of the squirrels in my attic and made sure all entry points were then sealed. They were very knowledgeable about critters and I hope we don't need to call them again.

I spent a total of $4,522 for Dr. Critter's "services" in order to remove a rodent problem in one of my homes (and an additional $1,830 of contractor work to fix areas of the home that Dr. Critter claimed was the source of the rodent problem). And after 8 long months and thousands of dollars spent, the rodent problem was never resolved. There was still the same amount of rodent activity after all the "work" they did as their was prior to it, if not MORE. I decided to completely drop Dr. Critter's services two months ago and looked elsewhere since their methods were ineffective. After finding a competitor (Proteck Wildlife Solutions), they were able to identify all the areas that Dr. Critter missed and even told me the areas in which Dr. Critter said were problem entry points were not problems at all. After using Proteck Wildlife Solutions, there has been NO RODENT ACTIVITY FOR ALMOST A MONTH IN THE HOUSE. Dr. Critter initially charged me $2,957 for an Exclusion, Removal, Bioremediation, and Misc Fixes. After just two weeks, the rodents returned. What exactly did I pay thousands of dollars for? They then proceeded to tell me there were entry points on the siding of the house, but they would not be able to make those fixes and I had to hire a contractor to make said fixes. Why was that issue not found on the initial assestment? Dr. Critter also mentioned that the siding had to be sealed off COMPLETELY and that every other area they took care of was fine. I consulted with THREE different siding contractors and each one specifically told me that sealing off the siding completely would be a hazard when it rains as it would cause the area to be prone to flooding and that they would not seal it off completely for liability reasons. Because the contractors (rightfully) would not seal off the siding, Dr. Critter said they would continute to charge me for trapping services instead of honoring the "warranty" I had for the $2,957 in services since they were entering an area they did not work on. They then charged me for $1,411 for 20 days of trapping, saying that they are entering through the siding and nothing can be done if that is open (which Proteck Wildlife Solutions proved was WRONG. There were multiple entry points in the roof that Dr. Critter did not seal. Once Proteck sealed those off, there was NO roden activity for a month. Proteck didn't mention the siding as an issue AT ALL). Also multiple times, Dr. Critter would leave "complimentary traps" in the attic that would be set off by rodents, but would not let myself nor my tenants know that they left these traps in the home. When I asked if they would pick up the traps, they said they would charge a $95 service fee. Why would you leave traps without telling me, and then expect me to pay a service fee to have them removed? I do not recommend using Dr. Critter for any of their services. Their communication with me was absolutely poor. They continued to charge me for services that had no real resolve. For a company claiming to be "wildlife removal experts", they seem to be far from it. Do yourself a favor and go with Proteck Wildlife Solutions if you have rodent issues.

Dr. Critter Wildlife Control's reply
Mr. Calizo, I'm genuinely sorry to hear of your disappointment. I felt that we accomplished a lot for you in our time of involvement having successfully caught & removed more than 40 rats from your home. I'd be happy to speak with you directly to see if we can resolve your concerns, even if that means providing you financial consideration. I do feel it's worth noting however that there is a lot more to this story. This is a 78 yr old rental home that was built in 1947. It's had multiple additions built on to it over the years that are not well constructed or joined correctly to the main home. It's also had a history of rodent problems. We found countless gaps & openings around the roof, siding, & crawlspace where rodents could gain entry. We sealed the vast majority of these while other areas (like the openings below/behind the siding along the foundation) we told you were beyond our scope & required a contractor to repair. During our time on the project most of the activity was centered around the garage & attic near the garage. After we'd made the home rodent free with the initial service, you called us sometime later saying there was new activity. We returned (for free) & found that rodents had chewed back in through rotten wood along the base of the home near the garage. We informed you that this was a problem that we couldn't fix & a contractor was needed. This specific recommendation was made because 1) this was the area the tenants were experiencing activity and 2) we could see where the animals had freshly chewed a hole. (You have suggested that we advised you poorly & you paid someone to do unnecessary work but that's simply not true.) You had a handyman attempt to seal the siding bottom but he did a terrible job. When we saw that the work would not stop the rodents we took a video of it & I personally texted it to you so that you could get it fixed correctly. As stated earlier, after we sealed the holes & eliminated the rodent population (which your tenants confirmed that the animals & noise were completely gone) you had several flare ups in the months following. The first few times you called us back out we provided additional trapping services for free even though the animals DID NOT get back in through any of our work - meaning it was NOT a warranty issue. As more flare ups occurred over time & all signs pointed to the source being the flawed siding, we finally told you that because the ongoing problem was not related to our work you'd have to pay for future trapping services. You did agree to do that & our services were always successful as each time we continued to catch the new rats that had found their way inside. During this period you were continuing to try & get the siding fixed correctly, but to my knowledge that has never happened. It's also worth noting that at no time were we trying to make additional money from you. We provided a lot of free trapping & consulting to you throughout this process. In fact, I'd say that nearly half of the overall trapping time you received was not charged. In the end, I truly am sorry that we weren't able to bring full resolution to your problem but I assure you it wasn't for lack of trying. We know the siding boards were an issue because we witnessed the new holes the rodents made in them AND it's where the tenants kept experiencing activity. We provided a lot of free service time in an effort to help you but when an ongoing problem stems from something outside of our control, at some point we have to charge. I have a hard time believing that no contractor could replace those 78 year old rotten boards with new ones but maybe it was cost prohibitive for you to do so. As long as that area remains unfixed you'll likely continue to have flare ups. We strive to get the best outcome for EVERY client but sometimes, as in this case, there are unexpected layers of complication. I'll do all I can to help you find satisfaction in this matter. Please give me a call to discuss.
