FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I often take opportunities I am not 100% familiarized with so I typically price out my work around half of what I find the national averages to be. If hired for work I am very familiar with, I usually have set prices for every step of the project. If drive time is over an hour total round trip I charge a $25 fee for gas. If there are multiple tasks my customers are wanting done I often give discounted rates versus just being hired for a single task.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once hired I like to discuss the work details over the phone to get a better idea of exactly what needs to be done. From there I set up a time and date to come by, always with all my tools since I usually do work same day. I then walk the property and visually see the work load asking any questions I have along the way and by then, I am able to give my customers an accurate estimate of the cost of work with a plan of action. Once price is determined and agreed on, I try and complete the job exactly as my customers hope to see it done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done freelance work my entire life and am constantly striving to learn new things. I learn most of my skills from self taught trial and error. I worked construction for over a year which taught me a wide scope of skills. I have always been the handyman of my family and friends so when ever something is needed I am often able to do it. Some tasks I have done have required me to research and watch others doing the same task in order for me to understand how the job is to be done, from there I am then able to do it on my own.
