FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I roughly follow the Editorial Freelance Association's rates and standards for my pricing. Every project is unique and requires unique evaluation, especially when it comes to the specific services required.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love working with new clients looking to take their writing to the next level. Those interested in my services will have an initial consultation and brief me on the scope of the work. Are you looking for developmental editing? Copyediting? Start to finish assistance? Once determined, I will set up delivery deadlines if needed or accept the completed draft if available. I can give feedback and edits on a rolling basis after mutually agreeing upon deadlines, or all material can be sent back as one.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the book publishing industry for over 5 years in a variety of editorial roles. Recently, I was an Acquisitions Editor for a small publisher focusing on nonfiction titles. My expertise lies in evaluating editorial material, offering feedback and collaboration, developmental editing, and proofreading and copyediting services. I received a Master of Professional Studies in Publishing from the George Washington University, focusing on editorial. Prior to that, I received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Central Florida with a minor in Writing & Rhetoric and a certificate in Women's and Gender Studies.
