- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new violin student, my approach is centered on creating a nurturing and structured learning environment. I begin by conducting an initial assessment to gauge the student's current skill level, musical interests, and goals. This helps me tailor a personalized curriculum to meet their specific needs, whether they are beginners seeking a strong foundation or more advanced players looking to refine their technique and musicality. Throughout our lessons, I emphasize fundamentals such as proper posture, bowing, and fingering techniques, ensuring a solid technical foundation. We explore a variety of music genres, from baroque, to classical and romantic, enabling students to develop a well-rounded musical repertoire. Regular practice and constructive feedback are integral components of our partnership, and I encourage questions and open dialogue to address any challenges or curiosities that arise. Ultimately, my goal is to inspire a lifelong passion for the violin, fostering both technical excellence and a deep appreciation for the art of music.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My journey as a violin teacher is deeply rooted in my integral education and training as a violinist, and mathematician! Over the course of more than a decade, I had the privilege of studying with private maestros who nurtured my passion for the instrument and provided me with invaluable insights into the world of music. This intensive training equipped me with a strong foundation in violin technique, musical theory, and performance. I honed my skills through countless hours of practice, and I continue to explore and expand my knowledge in the realm of classical and contemporary violin music. My educational background has not only shaped me as a proficient violinist but has also empowered me to effectively convey the intricacies of this beautiful instrument to my students, inspiring them to reach their full musical potential.
