FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We initially set up a phone or zoom meeting so I can have a good idea of what you are looking for. If possible, we then set up a meeting at the home or business or we can again do a zoom consultation. Once that is achieved I send you a quote. Once the quote is approved I do samples or sketches depending on what the job is. After the sample is approved I will give you a contract and I collect a deposit and then can begin the work at the job site.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my undergrad and masters from a top art school. The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had recently graduated with my BFA and moved to Austin, Texas. That was where I originally started my business. I was looking for a way to be able to have the flexibility to make a living as an artist and be able to travel for artist residencies and do the things I needed to maintain an arts practice and I came across working for a company that did decorative arts. I worked for a year for that company, learned the business, and then went out on my own and started Bluebird Design. Doing this work has given me the capacity to travel for galleries and residencies to China, Berlin, Uganda, and Greece. I’ve also gone back to get my MFA and currently also teach as an adjunct professor of visual arts in Miami.
