What can we work on together?
Your goals are my goals. I begin all work with my clients by getting clear about what you want out of our time together.

-Gallbladder disease and gallstones
-Osteoarthritis
-Gout
-Asthma and sleep apnea
HEALTHY AGING
As we age, our bodies ability to heal and rebuild slows down, so keeping up a yoga routine becomes even more important:
maintain bone density
build immunity
lower blood pressure
Increase neuro-plasticity for balance, memory and Joy
EMOTIONAL WELLBEING
Through movement, breathing, and body based check ins, yoga therapy can provide opportunities to:
Change our response to stress

Get deep restful sleep
Develop a clear and focused mind
Change your mind and mood
Connect with intrinsic joy
RECOVERING FROM INJURY
After an accident, serious injuries can change our ability to do things we used to do, greatly impacting our mental health. Together we can work to:
manage fear around re-injury reduce pain and inflammation safely mobilize
strengthen and balance muscles
HEALING DIGESTION
Stress, diet, exercise, and breathing patterns hugely impact our digestion and our quality of life. Careful management of these things through the lens of yoga and Ayurveda can help. Most adults live with some kind of digestive distress.
acid reflux
fatty liver
Irregular digestion inflammatory bowel conditions
MANAGING ADDICTION
Seeking treatment is alway the best first step. It is also important to build long term coping skills.
Identify triggers and cravings as they show up first in the body
build a new pleasure/pain baseline
increase focus and change response patterns through breathing and embodied awareness for long term recovery.
My focus is to connect with you personally, understand your wellness goals and life vision, and create a program that will take you there.
Everything I teach is customized and may include yoga asanas(postures whether they are supported with props, static or flow), pranayama(breathing techniques), mantra and meditation, ayurveda(the yoga food and energy science)guidance for healthy eating and lifestyle which extends to aromatherapy, herbal medicine, sound healing, etc.
SO HOW DOES THIS WORK?
INTAKE: if you would like to get started, I ask that you commit to 7 sessions, and provide a discounted rate for first time clients, providing a free intake/assessment session, and follow up. Once you confirm that you want to work together and pay, I will send you the intake and consent forms. The intake will include your medical history any present health issues and your goals. For example, you might want to work on your stress rather than your knee injury, or vice versa. I may request to speak with your primary care physician depending on the work you want to focus on.
ASSESSMENT: Your intake will be reviewed before our first session. When we meet we’ll discuss your goals, and I’ll assess your health. Health assessments vary depending on medical history, and goals. They may include things like assessing range of motion, exploring functional breathing, strength, balance or endurance testing. Some might be geared toward mental focus, visualization, and relaxation. Your program will be designed based on your goals and health assessment.
BUILDING A PROGRAM: following our initial session, I will create a set of yoga therapy protocols specific to your needs. I will email you the protocol weekly. You will have it in advance so you can review it and ensure that you have all the props needs. When we meet we will go through the protocol together, and I will give coaching and cues to perform the yoga exercises. You will be able to give feedback and ask questions. Based on how each session goes, the next protocol may be modified to ensure it helps you to continue making progress without injury or overwhelm. During the time in between sessions, the handout of the protocol will serve as a guide for practice throughout the week.
HOMEWORK: Some people get excited and will do the entire protocol each day between sessions. Others, that is not realistic. For this reason I leave it open, but also discuss what you feel you can do each week in between sessions and assign homework. This holds you accountable to building a personal practice. For those with resistance or time constraints, it might be something as simple as “watch this short video, practice the technique once, and write down how it went,” or “ perform this one breathing technique from the protocol for one minute each day and write down one word about how it made you feel.” They are meant to be manageable but also challenge you to grow.
I am skilled in offering guidance in many different styles of yoga including restorative, yin, gentle hatha, power vinyasa.
Whether you are looking for something spiritual, emotional healing, or just to get into your breath and body in a better way, I will support you as we work together to create that experience.
