We found Celestial Lions LLC on thumbtack for a painting job in Jacksonville, FL, as well as laminate installation for the same property. It's a property we purchased in Florida. We do not live in Florida, so all of our communication was through text. Also note: there was a language barrier when we tried to video chat, so we stuck with texting. Anyway- We began conversations on thumbtack, and then moved to text. We discussed my need, and what he was capable of doing. Luciano quoted us 3k based on the Zillow photos of the property. I was able to negotiate him down to 2500. On the day the project began, he went to the house and then we sent him a zelle deposit of 1k (once he actually saw the project in person). The agreement was to paint the ceilings, the doors, and the walls. He estimated the project would take 10 days to complete. Additionally, the house needed to be cleared of junk and he said he would do that too. Day 1, day 2, day 3, and day 4 of working was fine. He sent us photos of the progress, asked us questions, and was very responsive to my questions. During this time, he let us know that he needed more paint. He may have underestimated how much paint was needed, but we said that's fine- get the additional gallons. Because he was so responsive, I also inquired about another job in Hinesville, GA and he said he services that area too- I was like, okay great! At the end of the 4th day, Luciano text me a summary of the cost of all the additional paint that he needed, and also said he would give me a quote for the Hinesville job the next day. Additionally, he mentioned that the electricity at the house was not in yet, so that we should be aware of the food in the fridge. I responded with (summarizing)- "okay cool, thanks for letting me know. We'll pay you the additional amount when you are ready. Also, I thought you were going to remove the junk. If not, please let me know so I can arrange for someone to clear it out." Since that message, we have not heard back from Luciano and that was a week ago. I messaged, I called, I had other people call him, and NOTHING. No response. I do hope everything is okay with him, but it's very strange. Because of this "ghosting"- my husband and I had to take an impromptu road trip with our 2 under 2 to at least make sure the house wasn't up in flames. When we arrived, the house was still in tact, but the job barely begun. The ceilings weren't complete (which is what he said) and neither were the doors (also what he said). So we paid 1k for service to not be rendered. We would like our money back. My guess is that he agreed to do the job, but was probably overwhelmed OR got a "better" job. Either way, that's unacceptable.

Alec did an outstanding job with the painting, tile work and regrouting our master shower. He's very meticulous about his work, preps the job site well and then cleans up as he goes along. We are extremely happy with the work he did and have recommended him to family and friends.
