We are extremely responsive to phone calls and requests. In most cases we provide a written estimate on the spot and provide you with information and samples of the roofing material of your choice. We provide 100% satisfaction and stand behind our work. If you ever have a problem with our work (which is not likely) I promise we will be there to make it right. I know it may sound crazy, but we love what we do. We really enjoy the challenge of the difficult projects also. I have been in construction one way or another my entire life and so has most of our employees. I have worked in most aspects when it comes to building a new home but I enjoy the roofing system the most. I believe the roof is one of the most important systems for any building and we are proud of the responsibility.

Greetings - Word of mouth advertising is powerful. The consumer's experience with a product/service is paramount to the success or demise of a business. My recent experience with American Roofing of Jacksonville was profoundly satisfying. My family had recently sold our house and part of the deal was to get a new roof for the buyers. We were pinched for time as the required inspection and closing date rapidly approached. Dan Kinkel and his team of professional/expert roofers completed the job in less than 5 days on a 3,800 square foot home with several steep pitches!. Mr Kinkel oversees all aspects of the project and is hands-on as necessary to ensure a timely and correct install. American Roofing also protected my paver driveway with sheets of thick plywood before bringing in a dumpster for debris. The guys were very careful with disposing of the old roofing materials as I never found any items left on my property, especially nails! I couldn't be more satisfied with American Roofing of JAX. The inspection passed and the new owners love their new roof. One of the reasons I selected American Roofing over the other companies was due to the military service of the owners. BIG MISTAKE! The first of many problems was when the contractor sold me one product and then started installing a lessor quality product that was less costly for him. If I had not come home in the middle of the day, I would have never known. Secondly his crew did not have all the tools needed to do the job and borrowed my drill. Also there is an odor coming from the sky lights they installed. Finally, the grew damaged my yard by driving on it and they spilled tar on my fence gate. I have call American Roofing of Jacksonville several times and only get voice mail. They have NEVER called me back. If the odor does not dissipate soon I will contact an attorney. With this kind of service I don't have much faith in the warranty they provided. I would never recommend them and I will think twice before using THUMBTACK in the future.

Sir, I will call you today to get your issues resolved. I'm Dan Kinkel the owner of the company and this is the first I am ever hearing of all these issues except for the selection of Synthetic Underlayment. Our primary company number which is 904-385-4375 is currently answered by me and I do not have any missed calls or voice mails from you. I also have my cell number of 904-226-1205 and I do not have any calls from you on that number either. The bottom line is we stand behind our workmanship and we'll get your issues resolved. As we discussed with you about the synthetic underlayment we changed suppliers because of the Scotchguard 3M shingle we now install. The new supplier did not carry the underlayment that we showed you during the sale. I agree that we should have spoken with you about the change in underlayment before we started to install. But in our opinion the underlayment on your roof is a very good product and not a lessor quality product. I didn't even consider this to be an issue. In fact it is sold as part of the recommended roof system of the shingles that are installed on your roof. If I recall correctly we also gave you a discount for the underlayment change. We also installed a superior shingle to the one we sold you initially for the same price. Another savings to you of approximately $800.00. I am shocked and disappointed in my crew if they did in fact drive across your yard. That is something that is strictly against company policy. We will repair any damage to your yard. I'll clean your fence personally and see why there is an odor coming from your skylight. A smell coming from your skylight makes no sense to me and I have never had this complaint before. It must be a manufacturer defect or maybe a dead rodent in your attic that died near the skylight. Either way I'll come over and try to figure this one out. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In roofing providing a standard pricing system is difficult but we have an average price per square foot of approximately $25.75 a square foot for shingle roofing. Flat roofing systems are around $30 a square foot. Metal roofing is closer to $45.00 a square foot. With so many options and choices available it's really impossible to give a price without inspecting the roof first.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process starts by speaking or meeting with the customer to discuss what the customer needs. Then we provide a free and thorough roof inspection that includes photos and a drawing of the roof. In most cases we provide a written estimate on the spot and also include information and samples about the roofing material the customer chooses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Training is extremely important to me for everyone working for American Roofing. I continually send salesman and crew members to certification courses to make sure we stay up to date on the latest and best roofing practices. We also attend product seminars as often as possible to make sure we offer the best products available.
