Our tutors use SoFlo's proven three-step method: assessment, strategy, and practice. Students start with our free diagnostic test, so we can gather data and build a study plan to target areas of weakness. Students will then meet 1-on-1 with a tutor to introduce SAT/ACT strategies, teach the fundamentals of the test, and review homework problems. We are constantly learning, training, and preparing our tutors for excellence. Our tutors are dedicated to their students and perfecting their skills. What materials do we provide? Diagnostic Test: Assess your child's strengths and weaknesses, determine specific topic areas to review. Homework: 1-2 hours of homework per week, assignments are real SAT/ACT tests from the last several years. In class, we turn mistakes from homework into learning opportunities. Online Modules: Access to real SAT/ACT tests with answers and explanation videos, tips and tricks specific to each section of the test, supplemental worksheets for students who want extra practice. When are we available? We are very flexible when it comes to scheduling. We will meet on days and times that fit your schedule. Because tutoring is 1-on-1 over Zoom, you can pick your time. What is your pricing? We offer our Test Prep services on a pay-as-you-go basis. Our Core price is $75/hour, and our Premium price is $100/hour. Adam Shlomi was an exceptional tutor and an expert when it comes to the SAT and ACT. I had visited college experts before and the general classroom approach did not improve the specific subjects I needed help with. SoFlo Tutors changed my daughter's whole academic trajectory raising her SAT score 310 points and helping her navigate the college process. I am so excited that she is heading to Vanderbilt to major in economics, but before SoFlo she was a lackluster students who couldn't motivate herself to get work done. A top school like Vandy was out of the question. SoFlo unlocked her potential and changed the game! We reached out to Abby and the SoFlo team the summer before senior year for 1-on-1 SAT Tutoring because my daughter was refusing to study on her own. They paired us with Macy an amazing tutor who is also a professional cyclist. My daughter is an athlete and the two of them instantly hit it off. My daughter felt like she was working with a friend not a teacher and it was almost like she was tricked into studying. After 3 months of studying over the summer she took the SAT and got a 1530, which was a 310 point improve from her initial score of 1220!! With a high SAT score, we began to consider applying to top colleges. We were worried about her bad grades freshman year but SoFlo's owner Adam felt that we could write a great essay to capture the attention of admissions readers. Our strategy was that between the test scores and the essay, one school might take a chance on her. So she started working with a college counselor who helped brainstorm essays and by the end, we had a powerful story of overcoming injury on the soccer field. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Students start with our free diagnostic test, so we can gather data and build a study plan to target areas of weakness. Students will then meet 1-on-1 with a tutor for 2 hours a week to introduce SAT/ACT tricks, teach the fundamentals of the test, and review homework problems. We also can advise if they should focus on SAT or ACT and which test dates to sign up for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am Adam Shlomi the founder of SoFlo SAT Tutoring. I went to Georgetown University, scored a 1570 on the SAT, and have been tutoring for the last 5 years. All of our tutors scored at least a 1500 on the SAT and our most recent hire graduated Cum Laude from Princeton.
