$50 / hour
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I ask you to identify your learning goals. Do you have a test that you must prepare for? When is that test? What is your desired score? Do you have a project you have to complete? If so, when is the deadline? Then, I assess your understanding of the subject matter, usually by giving a diagnostic test. I also ask you to identify your learning style. Finally, I will devise a tentative study plan tailored to your goals and learning preferences.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored students for over ten years. I have many years of experience tutoring children, adolescents, and adults in multiple subjects, including standardized test prep (SAT, ACT, SSAT, TOEFL, IELTS); college application essay writing; pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, college algebra, geometry, and precalculus; social studies, anthropology, AP Human Geography, and AP US History; Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and Modern Hebrew, etc. I have a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Brown University. My coursework at Brown emphasized social sciences such as political science, anthropology, and sociology, as well as Mandarin Chinese. However, it included many other subjects, including multivariable calculus, expository writing, and Spanish. I also have a master’s degree in diplomacy studies from Tel-Aviv University. Through this program, I continued to study history and social sciences.
