FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
This varies from job to job, but it is a 10 lesson package (usually they're discounted.) But if they buy a package for more than one pup in their home, they get a multi-pup discount. (Note: packages are not refundable.) Most lessons last 60 mins. But if a bit more time is needed, it's fine - there's no extra charge. Especially in the beginning lessons, all questions will be answered to the satisfaction of the client. There have even been 90 mins. first lessons! As long as I have enough time to get to my next lesson, I don't mind. Something I didn't think I'd ever have the need to say, but find that occasionally I must, is this: I'm a seasoned professional. I will always be there for you and your pup. Please don't ask me to either work for free till you decide or finance your pup's training by breaking up the fee into paying per lesson. I cannot do either. Please use your FREE phone consult to ask all questions including those about payment, then make the decision to hire Puppy Dog Luv, LLC. Because both you & your pup deserve the best!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a FREE phone call consultation to discuss what they need assistance with regarding their pups. We speak about reasonable expectations if the pup is young. After being hired, a time/day for the first lesson is determined. Once that first lesson begins, I take a short time to get to know the pup while they're with their person & in their home. I do an assessment of the pup and their person's goals. This first lesson is a few simple steps and a verbal/visual cue or two. We agree on what can be done in each lesson, their agreement to practice with their pup in between lessons and a schedule for the next lesson is set. A contract that's legally enforceable is signed by the client & by me at the start of the first lesson. It gives the client a legal guarantee that they will get the complete 10 lesson package they have purchased. It also commits the client to practicing in between (humans are 50% of our sucess) my lessons so that their pup has the outcome described above in the "3-layer cake" section.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am degreed in behavioral pyschology. Also trained as an canine behaviorist & trainer and in animal communication. I've been trained by 6 different trainers on how to train pups and have taken courses in various styles of teaching dogs & in dog communication, as well as canine psychology. I keep up my training in canine nutrition, as well. Finally, I've been working with people and their pups for 30+ yrs. Real life training experience like this counts for a great deal, too.
