Introduction
THE DIFFERENCE WORKING WITH ME: - Indepth Consultations - Teaching Skills, Manners - Modifying Behaviors - Coaching Following Our Sessions SPECIALIZATION: - Dog Nanny - Behavior Modification for dogs experiencing: Fear, anxiety reactivity leading to aggressive behaviors - Separation anxiety - Guarding objects and people - Teaching puppies and dogs Skills and Manners to be good family companions. What Sets Me Apart ? I specialize in teaching you and your dog skills and modifying behaviors of concern to you. The Cost is $125/hour, followed by NO FEE Coaching We start with an in-depth conversation to learn all about you, your dog, their history, and issues you are dealing with and where you need help.   I create an Action Plan how we will work together for our lengthy in-person session.  Dogs understand and learn in different ways.  We teach your dog in the particular way he understands.   Our session will last for several hours so I can work with you and your dog, all household members (who want to be involved) so everyone’s on the same page training the dog in the unique way he understands. We have On-going Coaching Calls - Check training progress - Refine the skills we covered in the session's Action Plan. - We will have Coaching as long as you need for you and your dog to learn the skills we covered. My training is short term due to the streamlined Plan.   My methods are intuitive, based on the latest dog studies, and specific to your dog’s needs. In my extensive experience as a psychotherapist, I have found that psychological techniques are successfully transferable to working with dogs.  I teach you to understand what your dog's behavior is saying to you.  Your dog may need to be redirected with more exercise, or keeping busy to relieve boredom.     By understanding WHY, you can determine how best to solve the problem if your dog is reacting negatively when fearful or anxious.  We see what works for your individual dog. My training with countless families and their dogs is based on the latest research on animal behavior.

Jane was a huge help with our newly adopted dog, Georgie. She was very gentle with him after ascertaining that he was shy and afraid of strangers. We had been having problems getting him to go down stairs and ride in the car. Since Jane worked with him, in only 2 hours he is now doing both regularly. I really appreciate that she was able to quickly fix a difficult problem without forcing us into regular sessions that cost around $1,500.

Details: Private lessons • Aggressive behavior modification • Chewing • My home, venue, etc.

I trust Jane with my 4 feline when I travel. My cats welcome her when she arrives and actually don't seem to mind that I'm leaving! One of my cats generally hides when anyone comes in our house but not for Jane. She sends me shots of their happy faces and makes me feel at ease. Jane definitely has a magic touch with animals.

My dog was having a hard time focusing, being responsive to demands, as well as feeling stimulated. with Jane’s help we were able to get my baby to sit, stay, come, and lay down, and entertain herself all within a matter of two hours. Jane was professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and very in-tune to my dog’s behavior. On top of that she was very sweet and patient while having my family and I practice with our dog. Can’t wait for our next session! Thanks Jane!

Details: 6 - 12 months old • Large (41 - 70 lbs) • Private lessons • General obedience training • Leash pulling • Digging • Chewing • Barking • My home, venue, etc. • At the pro’s location

We adopted a four year old yorkipoo rescue a month ago. She is wonderful, but we had what we thought was a severe problem with aggression and hard mouthing (we called it biting) that only appeared after about 10 days of adopting her. We were at our wits' end because she was so sweet one minute and seemed possessed the next. We actually had become afraid of her and couldn't understand why this was happening. Our vet referred us to a dog behaviorist who was so booked up we couldn't get an appointment until July! We knew that wouldn't work for us. But then I began searching and I found Jane! She got back to me within an hour and we had a two hour plus session the very next day! In that one appointment, she solved our problem! Turns out our dog was just frustrated and bored and wanted us to play with her. She wasn't being aggressive - she was just communicating with us and it was clear to Jane by how she interacted with us that our dog was very bonded to us. That was a tremendous relief to hear. We had bought her all kinds of chew toys, but she hadn't really liked anything. Jane brought all kinds of things with her to try and it turned out that our dog flipped for a stuffed animal. She tore into it (a very rugged toy so it was safe) - I'd never seen her so actively interested in anything before (other than a bully stick). Plus, she brought a snuffle mat which my dog loved as well. Since then (just a few days ago), I've gotten a menagerie of high quality stuffed animals and she is playing with them. While she still sometimes lunges and tries to mouth us, things are significantly better. And Jane assured us that as we continue to work with her to be gentle, to give her the toys when she tries to mouth us, and provide her with more stimulation, she will continue to improve. I wholeheartedly recommend Jane's Dogs if you are having any issue with your pet. She is kind and insightful. And gives you as much time as you need. Plus, she provides follow up counseling as part of the service.
