As a competitive tennis player myself, I am skilled in the game, but found it difficult to teach my own kids who would not listen to dad or stay focused. We were very fortunate to have discovered Maria. We have twin 9-year old girls and were looking for a tennis coach that would help them develop excellent tennis technique, a good knowledge of the game and most of all, someone that made the game enjoyable for them - not a drill sergeant. Maria is extremely good with kids, is flexible around our schedule and her rate is very reasonable compared with others. Her fun teaching style, patience and caring interactions with our kids has made the game fun for them. We've seen tremendous progress in a year and I'm looking forward to more daddy-daughters tennis workouts as they get even better! I've observed other tennis coaches focus on playing games and hitting lots of ground strokes, but who don't teach much. It is important to start off with a strong foundation built on the proper swing, correct footwork and other tennis proficiencies first which is what Maria strives to accomplish. It is much more difficult to unlearn bad form once it is cemented in place, than spend the time upfront to do it right from the start. Many tennis trainers have great credentials, but don't be fooled. Not everyone can be a good teacher. Maria has a great tennis background as well, but is also a great, encouraging and effective coach/trainer/teacher/mentor/friend. Give her a call and see for yourself!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to focus first on a student’s technique and after time as they get better with their technique I like to rally with the student. For me it is always important to give continuous tips and always encourage the student throughout the lesson. I specialize in teaching technique forehand, serve and backhand.

UPTR, Cardio Tennis, 10 and Under Tennis
