We will talk about what your training goals are, you will get answers as to why you are seeing each behavior, a custom plan will be made to help you reach those goals, and we will begin training-all in the same day. I hired Scott to train my 12 year old Terrier and once we talked we decided to have Toby trained as a Service Dog. I had had 2 dogs pass away in less than 1 year. Toby became extremely depressed and someone suggested he be trained for ESA. Toby started his training not really even knowing to sit. After many lessons he learned to pick up things from the ground and is now being trained in signaling me when I may have a panic attack. Toby is a completely different dog. He now has a purpose and has became very confident. He delights going places and is so much more affectionate. He just had a 5+ hour airplane ride (his first time) and many people remarked on his good behavior, his ability to be so attentive, and his socialization technique. My family, who called Toby “yapper”are amazed at how Tody now is a completely different dog. Scott made such a difference that I wish I had done it much earlier in Toby’s life so he had a compelling activity to be involved in. Scott is a wonderful person who is keen on understanding the animal’s needs, he explores what an animal wants and how to make training fun and interesting, and he is an untapped wealth of knowledge waiting to help others with their goals. I’ve recently relocated or Scott would still be training Toby. If you’re looking for someone to train your dog and/or help you with solutions to a dog’s little behaviors, Scott will be a treasure for you and your 4 legged companion.

Excellent job! Good price and high professionalism. Scott knows about dogs everything. My dogs are always happy when he comes. He trains owner too, explains everything. We trained ourselves our 5 y.o. Pomsky to walk on treadmill a lot of times, but he refused, because he was very scared. But Scott trained him just for 1 lesson and we were pleasantly shocked how is very fast he overcome his fear and right now my dog walking on treadmill with happy. Also, Scott trained our 4 months Husky and we see very good progress. If you are looking for a trainer, Scott is the best from the best! Thank you so much for your amazing job!

Scott was great! Very friendly and professional! He came super prepared with treats and even training collars witch I ended up buying one from him! Loved the fact that he sells those collar so I could start using right away, it worked like a charm, he was vary nice to me and my very anxious puppy, he is super knowledgeable and explained a lots of my dog behavior that I didn’t know how to deal, looking forward to proceed with our lessons.

Scott is an amazing trainer. He really connected with our dog, Charlie. He gives you some great info and background on dogs in general and makes it easy to work towards your goal. We’re not even halfway through our lessons and our dog is accomplishing all of the things on our wish list. I highly recommend him!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do offer a 10% discount on training for active or retired military(must present vid military ID) and first responders(law enforcement, fire, EMS).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a student of Michael D’Abruzzo, founder of the Foundation Style Dog Training system, and owner of K9-1 Specialized Dog Training. I have studied the behavior of wolves in the wild, wolves in captivity, and domesticated dogs to better understand how dogs communicate and how to train them in a way that is easy for them because it doesn’t go against their instincts and behaviors but uses them to our advantage.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been working around dogs my whole life. I came home from the hospital to two dogs. I’ve NEVER not had dogs. I’ve been training dogs as a serious hobby for years but never knew if I could do it professionally with a wife and six kids. Then, one day, I came across a quote from an inspirational speaker, Kevin Claiborne, who said “Ignoring your passion is slow suicide. Never ignore what your heart pumps for. Mold your career around your lifestyle nor your lifestyle around your career.” That inspired me to chase my dream.
