Introduction

I have nearly 7 years of experience working as a professional photographer, filmmaker and videographer. I believe I take a unique approach to my photography and video production and always try to implement an artistic and visually interesting dynamic to each project. My expertise spans multiple types of shoots including wedding/family/portraiture, to commercial/marketing, fine art, product photography and even real estate. Technical knowledge of cameras and photo taking is only one small part of the puzzle... any photograph, video or film should tell a story, to capture a moment in time and invoke a sense of emotion when looking at them or compel viewers to seek additional information on a product or business. I am constantly experimenting with new and different techniques and challenging myself regularly to step outside my comfort zone and explore new ideas, ways of ensuring that those moments that get preserved are done so in the best possible way, appropriate for the situation. As you can see from my photo collection, film/narrative demo reel and commercial/marketing demo reel, I take a very dedicated approach to each project and client, developing both a sense of ownership over the final results and a shared vision with those who hire me. I am also a veteran of the United States Navy, where I spent considerable time sharpening such attributes as attention to detail, pride in work, ethics, and professionalism. I keep things fun, light and enjoyable on my shoots because I truly do enjoy every moment I get to spend with my camera taking photos and that vibe spreads to my clients in a positive, meaningful way. Rob did a photoshoot with my new puppy and I at my home and around Ybor City, FL. He was completely professional, extremely creative, and fun to work with at all times. More importantly, though, the results were incredible and well beyond expectation. I had recently overcome some very difficult obstacles in my life, and moving into a new home with a new puppy was the culmination of breaking through the barriers. Rob somehow managed to capture all of this perfectly, resulting in some very emotional photographs that make me tear up when I see them to this day. I've kept up with Rob and watched his work progress, and I can honestly say that he has "the eye". Any type of shoot he does just seems to turn out magical. I highly recommend Mr. Coggin for any type of photography needs you might have, you will not regret it.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is quite simple. I charge a flat rate for both photography and video production services. There are no hidden surprises, and I like my clients to know exactly what their cost is up front. For video production and wedding photography, I strongly recommend an in person consult to better determine specifics before I advise on a final quote, general shoots are fairly standard and reasonably priced. I charge mileage per mile outside a 25 mile radius of my location on top of the normal rates (Brandon, FL), but I can be flexible on a case by case basis.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I view every new client as an opportunity to gain a partnership. I will spend more time listening rather than speaking at first, because I want to truly understand and get to know you, your vision and your needs. When I am comfortable that I have your vision or idea in my mind and in my notes, I will then make suggestions as needed in order to maximize the return on your investment in me and my services. Communication is a crucial component of this process, and I am always available and willing to talk/discuss and remain as flexible as possible, knowing that situations change and needs may shift. I am able to adapt to those changes with minimal lost time.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I developed my passion for photography and filmmaking after being introduced to it while making short music videos for my band. I have been a musician my entire life, and that creative energy and output that I have fostered so well over the years was a perfect match for the creative demands of camera work. As such, I took that same level of passion and energy and applied it to this craft and have been diligently working and improving myself each step of the way since.
