FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My current tuition rates are as follows: $120/month (4-30 min sessions) $240/month (4-60 min sessions)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial phone conversation, I invite the student (and parents if applicable) to my studio. I get to know the student personally and find out what they enjoy and why they desire to learn piano. If they already know how to play, I invite them to bring a piece of music to share. It is a very casual experience. As you know, the relationship between the teacher and the student is crucially important to the success of the student. I desire for my students to feel they are in a safe environment to learn, create and just be themselves. We proceed based on the student's goals, learning style and at their pace.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was formally trained in piano for 10+ years by a teacher from the National Guild of Piano Teachers & I have been playing for 30+ years. I have been playing for choirs, congregations, and leading worship since I was 14 years old. Most recently serving as Worship and Youth Pastor in a local church. My husband and I now pastor a church in Montpelier. We live in Mechanicsville. I am a member of the National, state and local Music Teacher's Association
