FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My lessons are $60 an hour, so students typically start at $30 per half hour. I ask parents to pay me at the end of the month, so you just pay for whatever lessons we had that month. I don’t offer family discounts because I believe it can very easily become too complicated (one child changes lesson length, one child quits, one child needs to skip a week; in any of these situations, I find it is best to have a flat rate already set). I will give you a free lesson for every referral you offer that signs up for lessons.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have enough experience to be very prepared for a first lesson. I always have extra books on hand and I know what is important for someone to know to get them started. In the case of an experienced student, I know how to meet them where they are at and evaluate what they would like to improve, and I know I can help with that.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am in the process of getting my degree in songwriting/music production from Berklee School of Music. In addition, I have years of experience in various aspects of music. I’ve been playing the piano for 20 years and I’ve played the trumpet, french horn, guitar, and organ for over ten years, including being an all-state player in high school for trumpet and french horn.
