Wonderful experience with Rooted En Flavor. I used Thumbtack for the first time Ever and this caterer was very responsive from the first inquiry. She sounded professional. Her web page was sharp. So I took a chance on a company where I had no referral nor personal experience. I gave her my vision and sent pictures of the venue. My budget was shaky in the beginning but I was able to shore it up. She was willing to work with my change in budget amounts. Phenomenal flavor and she provided an on-site server. She matched my vision EXACTLY. spot on! I highly recommend Rooted En Flavor. My event was a reception for a favorite Penn State MBA Professor/Advisor. Alumni spanning 20 years met in DC for this event.

Could not be happier or more impressed with the food and service provided by Cheryl. The food was absolutely amazing. Cheryl was very responsive throughout the process and created the perfect menu for our dinner. Each course was delicious and the filet with the blueberry sauce was one of the best steaks I have ever had.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    All pricing is negotiable and menus are custom made for each client. We are able to offer more substantial discounts for larger parties as opposed to smaller groups. We always charge by the number of people and ingredient type and only source from quality vendors.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    We reach out to gather more information, send over a custom menu with pricing based off our call, upon acceptance we send over a contract and invoice for 50% deposit payable via a secure online link.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I'm a Mediterranean trained chef but can cook multiple styles. We fly around the world twice a year to study under different chefs in different countries so we may bring those nuances back home to the U.S.
