FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge my new students $75.00 an hour. I take cash or a check made out to cash. Each student pays as they come for a lesson. No advance or delayed payments. Everything stays even. I require 24 hours notice for cancel of a lesson. If you don't show I will charge you the full amount.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a (get to know) conversation with the prospective client by phone. We get the chance to speak and break the ice. I will usually ask the client what kind of experience they have had and what level of singer they consider themselves. What kind of music they want to be helped with and what their goals are. I tell the client what they can expect in a lesson from me. I cater to each students needs. We will schedule the first lesson, which is at my home or online.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have three music degrees. A Bachelors of Music Education from K-12 and Double Masters of Performing Arts degrees in Opera and Music Theatre. I have performed in Europe and throughout the US. I am a member of three unions. Actors Equity Association (the professional actors union), AFT (American Federation for professional Teachers) and NATS ( National Association for Teachers of Singing). I have been teaching private voice as a coach and technician for 28 years.
