FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We bill by the hour for almost everything, but we don't have minimums, so a 15 minute meeting is billed for 15 minutes. We don't bill for driving to or from consultations, but we do bill for 50% of the driving time for shopping trips and project management trips. For drawings, we bill by the square footage of the space that is being drawn. It is a flat fee that covers unlimited updates and iterations of the plans, and includes as many specific drawings as necessary to execute the project. 3D renderings are included! We do not believe in markups - discounts that we get from contractors, vendors, and suppliers are passed along directly to our clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing that we do is speak via phone to get a sense of the project and our potential client's wants and needs. That way we can determine quickly whether or not we would be a good match - if it's a match, then we set up an in-person meeting or consultation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As the Lead Designer, I have education in Interior Design, a degree in engineering, a background in fine arts and architectural drafting, and experience with project and construction management. I also hold a certificate in Aging in Place and Universal Design from Harvard University.
