FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons are either 30 or 60 minutes. Half hour lesson is $30, one hour lesson is $55. All lessons are private and paid monthly in advance, cash or check accepted. Cancellation and make up policies are provided in a written contract upon sign up.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We asses together where the new student is in terms of musical progress, talk about goals, and go forward from there. There will always be a review of basics, particularly breathing and support with new singing students, regardless of level. Music lessons are a bit different from a typical classroom dynamic. The student always has to be a more active partner in the learning.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a classically trained musician. My education includes Drew University, the Academia Real in Madrid, Spain, and Hartt School of Music along with private study. I have over 25 years professional experience performing as well as directing in the US and Europe in various venues including church, oratorio, solo recitals, opera, theater (local and off-Broadway), chorales, community choruses, private parties, and nursing homes/senior centers. I have sung at Carnegie Hall and the Sydney, Australia Opera House. The scope and style of my performance, liturgical, and teaching repertoire is wide and varied. In addition to my lifelong career as a church musician in various denominations, I work performing, directing, and operating my own private voice/acting and piano studio with over 20 years teaching experience.
