Bass and guitar lessons offered in East Haven, CT --- FREE 15 minute phone consultation Hi! My name is Max, I'm a Berklee-educated musician and I'm here to help you level up your playing! I can teach you how to play your favorite songs, and more importantly, understand how they work. Using a multitude of techniques and ideas; music theory, scales, picking styles, sight reading, soloing, improvisation, slap, phrasing, walking, tone production and more. My goal for you as a student is for you to be able to hop into any Jam and sound like a pro! Been a guitar player for many years who only fumbled my way over the bass occasionally. Max is great at showing how bass parts work in a song and how to play just enough and what’s right to fit a song. My right hand method has also improved drastically. If you need a great bass teacher Max is the man!

Max is very easy going while at the same time always working hard and giving it his all. You have a lot to learn from a man of many talents. As he blesses your brain cells with musical madness you will forget you are learning at all. At the end of the day, being around Max never feels like a chore and more like a sunny day at Disney. I could spend a day at the local shuffleboard tournament with Max and have the best day of my life. I could go on and on, but what I’m trying to say is this Demi God has all the attributes needed to be the best teacher and friend a person could ask for.

A tremendous musician and bass player with a lot of very creative ideas, not to mention a good guy to have around. Helped drive Sprunge in a lot of ways, through songwriting, through jamming, and through band personality. A good addition to any group.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a 15 minute phone consultation free of charge, no commitment required! I charge $50 per 30 minute lesson, $60 per 45 minute lesson and $70 for an hour lesson. I'm happy to work around your schedule to find a time that works best for you!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try and adapt my teaching style towards every students personal needs. Are you a visual learner? Maybe charts and notation will make a lot of sense to you. Do you like to listen? Listening and analyzing music can be one of the best ways to learn. There's never a set path. I always try and guide my students towards their goals in the way that works best for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been taking lessons from industry professionals for over 6 years and have attended Berklee College of Music to study under some of the greats. I've taken classes and private lessons taught by Victor Wooten, John Patitucci, Larry Edoff and many others.
