What started as a consult to get advice on new flooring and paint color turned into a thoughtful redesign of our first floor with an intent to take advantage of rooms and space and create common areas for our growing family. Through a fun discovery process, she immediately picked up on our preferences, style and lifestyle and provided multiple ideas and options that fit our budget at each step of the project. She brought in skilled and reliable contractors and ensured all work met the highest standards. We were able to accomplish: - New hardwood flooring to replace the hodgepodge mix of tile, hardwood, carpet and pergo of previous owners; - New paint color scheme for all rooms plus accent wallpaper focus for two walls; - Repurposing of rarely used formal living and dining rooms to common/family rooms; - Custom-built couch for our narrow family/tv room; - Refacing of fireplace plus built in cabinetry to house our flatscreen tv - Replacement of all window coverings and hardware; - Custom-built bookshelves for our multi-purpose dining room; - Design and placement of wall art, books and other objects, plus existing furniture to improve room flow and use of space; - Redesign of lighting in all rooms; - New quartz kitchen countertop, tile backsplash. Caryn was committed to getting our home ready so we could fully enjoy welcoming our second child in a home that truly reflected our family. We love our newly designed home and hope to work with Caryn in the future on additional projects for the house. Highest recommendation!!!

Caryn was amazing to work with! She came out to our house and took a great deal of care speaking with us and finding out our lifestyle and what we required for our kitchen remodel. She was very thoughtful and made many suggestions on things we never thought of or would have considered. We would absolutely recommend her to friends and family.

Our experience with Caryn Paradis was excellent from start to finish. We had an unfinished basement that we wanted to finish and didn't know where to begin. Caryn talked with us in detail about how we wanted to use our basement and then came up with plans that included all of our needs as well as ideas that we hadn't even considered but should have. She was able to design a space that incorporated areas for everyone in our family, including our young son--even a stage that could be pulled apart for use as couches when he becomes a teenager! Because we live in separate states, Caryn was able to do much of the work remotely with minimal visits to our home to take measurements, etc. She had finish samples sent directly to us quickly and walked us through the decision making process. She designed specific requests, such as a fireplace for my husband and a guest room/office area. Caryn paid attention not only to the aesthetics of the job, but also the practicalities, such as outlet placement and HVAC. She also included amenities such as a well-placed dorm fridge which will come in handy when our son is old enough to use the space as a hang-out with friends. All in all, the job was smooth, well-designed and surprisingly painless. Caryn listened to our needs and then exceeded them. We would recommend her without reservation.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We charge hourly or flat fee depending on the project. Our fees are based on data from the last 10 years of practice!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We arrange for a first call or visit (free of charge), and they tell us their story: what their goals are for the project, what they like and dislike. We talk. We go over how we work: we have a step-by-step process, and you can hire us for all or any part of the process. After the meeting, we put together a custom quote based on our conversation, and send it off. We quote either a fixed or hourly rate because everyone's needs are different! We pride ourselves on creating something just for each client from the beginning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Caryn has BS in interior design/architecture, and an MS in management. I am an NCIDQ licensed interior designer. Haylee holds a BS in interior design and is studying for her NCIDQ exam!
