For a regular cleaning, a professional usually requires about one and a half hours, so I allocate double the time for deep cleaning. During our conversation, Sabir clarified that he only wanted a one-time deep cleaning rather than regular service. As a result, I adjusted the pricing accordingly. However, the client was dissatisfied with the change in price and expressed his dissatisfaction by leaving a negative review. The cleaning team worked for three and a half hours to complete the task, and I informed Sabir that more time was needed to adequately clean the apartment, which had not been professionally cleaned in a long time. I also suggested that the team return on another day, but he declined and opted not to continue the conversation further. We also extended a discount to Sabir in good faith, honoring our initial agreement, which was in the range of $180 to $200. The 10% discount was intended for future visits, even though the amount we charged was below our typical pricing. For the deep cleaning, which took the team three and a half hours to complete, the standard price would have been $350. However, as mentioned, we charged only $200 in alignment with our commitment, yet unfortunately, we were left with a negative review. It can be disheartening when clients do not fully appreciate the hard work involved, and some may try to take advantage of situations like these. We always strive to provide high-quality service, and it's unfortunate when that effort goes unrecognized. Unfortunately, some clients search for lower prices on Thumbtack and select recurring services, even when their intention only require a one-time cleaning. This can lead to misunderstandings, and I feel that Thumbtack should offer more protection for professionals, as we are the ones providing the majority of the work in these scenarios, not the clients who only request one-time services.
