Introduction
For 20 years I had a 10 piece big band, Top Brass, for which I did the bookings and wrote the arrangements. We performed for weddings, corporate and private functions as well as in concert. I also led a 10 piece group called The New Millennium Jazz Ensemble which produced a CD in 1996 plus performing in numerous concerts and jazz festivals. Since 2002, I have been teaching piano, both classical and jazz, as well as theory. I teach in my students’ homes because I believe it is important for them to play on the same instrument whether they are in a lesson or playing on their own. (This also saves parents from having to drive their children to one more event). My students range from age 6 to age 81. I received my degree from The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and did post graduate work at The University of Texas, Austin. I truly enjoy teaching, helping my students develop skill and confidence while enjoying making music. I am also available to play both corporate and private functions.

We love Bill Hinds! Mr. Bill was our daughter's piano teacher for many years, until she left for college recently. He has incredible gift for teaching piano. His time with Victoria not only developed her interest in playing the piano, but also taught her the discipline of practicing (anything!), reading music, and introducing her to different genres of piano music. His kind demeanor and talent is a gift -- and we are so grateful for his influence on her education and life. When Victoria got to college, she told us she found a piano in the music department, where she'll occasionally play because of the love-of-music and piano-playing Mr. Hinds helped instill. Thank you Mr. Bill!!

Mr. Bill was very patient with my kids as they learned to play the piano. He helped to make it an enjoyable experience for them. He is friendly and easy to work with - it's especially great that he was willing to come to our home for their lessons!

Bill is a wonderful teacher explaining theory with practicality and making it all fun. Bill has an exceptional amount of experience and shares this easily and even throws in some great stories! I would recommend Bill to anyone of any age from beginner to the very experienced.

We have had “Mr Bill” as a teacher for 11 years (mom and 2 kids). We appreciated his patience and enthusiasm over all these years. We liked that he did not require recitals (too much pressure) and the incorporation of music theory into his lessons. Overall, a gentle kind soul who loves to share his knowledge and experience with his pupils.
