Hello! My name is Jeremy Whalen, and I have been building and finishing stairs since 2003. Prior to that I did doors and mil work, and even took some time to work with cabinets, in all since 1994. If you are looking for a new prize piece stair case then I am definitely the person to oh attention to detail and present a perfect piece of art to your home. I have a favorite quote that helps keep my my work ethic always moving forward... “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price.” -Ben Franklin I should also add…. I am a finish carpenter not a welder. I can do stainless and metal posts with cables, or wood posts with metal balusters, but I do not weld whole metal panels for an industrial style. Jeremy was fantastic! We had an entire 2 story pine railing replaced with traditional balusters and railings, complete transformation. Jeremy was thorough, conscientious and pleasant throughout the process. Would highly recommend!

We were struggling to find and hire a right person for our stair railing project and was lucky to find Jeremy. He did a great job and we are satisfied with his work which was done within our budget. He is very professional and flexible. He wont close the project, until we are satisfied. We were always worried how this project will come up as the existing stair walls need be remodeled with stair railing but with his experience and guidance, it came very well and we are enjoying it.

Jeremy did an AMAZING job on a hand rail we needed installed in our house. He was very easy to work with. I knew nothing about hand rails and I appreciated his help and guidance in choosing what to install. He helped me choose the type of hand rail and where exactly to put it. How did you get started doing this type of work?
My dad was always known as the only finish carpenter in the family out of six boys. After he passed away I chose to be the best finish carpenter to make him proud, and have been working and honing my skill since I was 16. I have no doubt he would be proud.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I committed to a kitchen remodel where my client stated her kitchen felt small and dark. I began suggesting ideas that hadn’t been though of at that point. We ended up removing the pantry closet, removing the adjacent wall and door to the secondary laundry room (she used the one down stairs and this was empty space) and turned it into a butler pantry. This opened the whole house up, leaving her with an open kitchen, extra space and storage, and a homey atmosphere. It is alway going to be a favorite project.
