FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We base our pricing on the distance we need to travel to the event, as well as the extent of equipment we will need to bring to make sure our sound is GREAT! Our goal is for each band member to be paid a minimum of $100/hour (including travel and set up time).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This varies depending on the type of event. However, our goal is to involve you in helping create the set list for the event as much as you would like - including being willing to learn up to 2 new songs at no additional charge if your favorite(s) is (are) not already on our list. (Additional new songs are also options for an additional charge.) We also are part of a large, thriving music community so can add additional instruments (i.e., piano, additional horns, etc.) if requested and for additional charge. Also, Rick Pruitt also has extensive experience performing at weddings so can help with all aspects of planning the music for your special event. For weddings, we can offer a full package, including Rick's EXTENSIVE experience that he can use to help you plan all aspects of music for the entire event to help ensure this special day is just what you're looking for! The full package includes Rick performing classical guitar music as your guests are arriving, during the processional as the couple walks down the aisle, and then again as guests are leaving; then The Gatos providing a set of background jazz during cocktail hour, and then more lively music with vocals for the after dinner party.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The majority (three out of five) of The Gatos are all professionally trained musicians with music degrees. Combined, The Gatos Band has a century of playing music professionally across a wide range of genres including flamenco, jazz, classical , blues, and rock.
