FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer flat fee pricing at very reasonable rates and payment plans. Especially now with Corona virus and social distancing, many people are suffering and don't have a lot of expendable money. When people's freedom is at stake, I try and work with them to come up with viable payment arrangements. Some attorney's offer flat fee arrangements that include motions and trial expenses. However, even if they resolve the case, they still keep all of the money. I offer two-tier pricing. A lower fee than the average attorney and if the case resolves in a plea bargain then that is all the client owes. If it is determined that there are viable legal or factual defenses then I have a second tier flat fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I stage an initial free intake interview, by phone or in person, and find out more details of what happened. This is the start of the process and potentially identifying both factual and legal defenses. I never promise clients an outcome and you should be suspicious of any lawyers who does. Once I have obtained discovery (all the evidence law enforcement has compiled and provided to the District Attorney's), I provide my client's with an assessment of the evidence and their best options.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an attorney for 21 years. I was a prosecutor for 14 years. Eight years as a line Deputy District Attorney with the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office. I have tried every kind of infraction, misdemeanor, juvenile and felony case - I have been to trial on everything from Dog Off Leash to First Degree Murder. I then moved on and spent six years with the Colorado District Attorney's Council where my primary job was to train Colorado law enforcement and prosecutors about DUIs and impaired driving. Through that experience developed an expertise in all aspect of DUI cases. Because of that experience I can read a police officers report and determine exactly what level of training they have received - not all cop are created equal. I have an exceptional amount of expertise when it comes to marijuana and drug impaired driving that is unique and distinct in the defense attorney community. I also have a lot of experience with scientific evidence. Whether it is toxicology, DNA, medical evidence or strangulation, I have an exceptional amount of knowledge, interest and depth of experience.
