Hello Sam, I appreciate your feedback regarding our conversation. My apologies for not thoroughly explaining that the rough ballpark figure I quoted of anywhere from 150k-200k was a very rough guess based on your expectations for your desired basement. According to my notes when we spoke a few weeks back, the basement you wanted to complete would include a nice large bathroom with a steam shower. You also wanted a very beautiful custom-built wet bar. I do remember on our Zoom call you showing me an example of what you were wanting for the wet bar. It was gorgeous- beautiful wood pillars, wrap around bar top with wood paneling, the wood even wrapped up to the ceiling. Reminded me of an old cigar bar – stunning! As we were going through our conversation, and you were gracious enough to help me understand what was important to you when hiring a contractor. Outside of quality, honesty, and trustworthy, price is always important. When we did get to that part of the conversation, you were curious about the cost. I mentioned for something like what you described would be an investment of around 150k to 200k. As you have already mentioned in this review, you were blown away by that rough ballpark figure. When I asked what your budget range was, my notes say around $80K max. I recall stating that unfortunately I can’t even finish a regular basement for that cheap, and that our clients are investing over 100k in their basement finishes, depending on the products, details, and of course any custom work. My apologies for upsetting you and not being able to complete your project to your expectations for the budget that I just cannot reach.
