- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I always attempt to be fully transparent up front. If there are clarifying questions that need answered before offering the quote, I be sure to ask. If the project goes much smoother than expected, I do lower the bid and collect a lesser, more appropriate amount.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For some projects, it may seem simple and straight-forward, but often times the customer may not know all the steps and/or materials needed for the project, and therefore understand total material costs. Along with helping them understand, it is also most important to understand what the customer expects as the end result. Having that discussion goes a long way.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
