A-1 Garage Doors' response to my inquiry was great, and the technician was punctual and friendly. However, the verbal quote we received was misleading, deceitful, and way overpriced. In the past, we have sometimes hired the first company that comes to our home as we don't shop around. However, something about how this repair was presented raised red flags. First, we were quoted $800 for replacing the parts we currently have, and then we were quoted $800 for converting to a more modern system for the same price, but the tech could not explain to us where it made sense. We ended up paying for the $29 service call because we decided we didn't trust what was being quoted. We called UGK Construction and Overhead Doors and had the best experience ever, paying 50% less than what A-1 Doors quoted.
