FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $40 for 30min lessons, $55 for a 45min and $65 for an hour. 4 lessons in one month with result in a $10 discount. Commutes longer than 30mins one way will be charged an additional $5. Must cancel a lesson within 24 hours to avoid a charge.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a beginning saxophone player, our first lesson will be spent going over the basics of setting up the saxophone, providing tips on how to make it easier to play, and introducing one or two fundamental exercises to get the player on a quick path to success. I will also ask questions about the students musical interests so that we can attach your personal interests to our goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing saxophone for over 15 years and received my Bachelor of Music, with an emphasis in Jazz Studies, from the University of Northern Colorado. There I was privileged to learn from some of the best jazz faculty and students in the country, and played in its top ensembles. From Dana Landry, Andy Dahlke, Drew Zaremba and a number of others I became proficient in jazz saxophone, composition, history and theory, all of which I continue to practice and grow in outside of school.
