FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $60 per hour. If you feel you don't need an hour, then the price would be pro-rated. ($45 for 45 minutes) etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Assess goals, and abilities in the first lesson. Then I should know the students' level and be able to apply my course to fit the students needs. Stress the need for practice. (You see me 1hr. per week. The other 6 days and 23 hours are up to you). Find out how much time the student really devotes to practice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 45 years of professional experience of all kinds. My strength is really jazz, but any jazz player worth his "salt" has probably had experience with most all contemporary forms of music. Skills should include, good enough sight-reading to play most shows, fake a tune by ear, have some classical chops. I know what it takes to make it as a keyboard player, and that's what I teach. No problem with students who are amateur, or who do it part-time etc. I also have conservatory training in classical literature, and have a classical album of my own recently produced. Ive been teaching privately for about 10 years.
