FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I live in Denver, CO! Pricing is going to be based on what the going rate is for my area. Music teachers around the country and in your area will have adjusted prices for the going rate in their area as well. Our fees incorporate the amount of time we use to prepare for your lessons, our extensive study of music to be able to offer you our services, and our experiences as performers.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I really like to connect with someone for a short conversation before agreeing to a first lesson. This chat helps me understand what students are looking for, if my services align with what they are looking for, to get to know them as people, and to address and alleviate nervousness. After we get a sense of one another, then we can schedule our first lesson, or I can give them guidance on how to keep searching for a teacher that will fit them a bit better.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a choral director in elementary, middle, and high schools for 15 years previous to having my own studio. I have a deep understanding of vocal and musical development from children age 5 all the way through adulthood, and that has helped me adjust to individual student need. My own performing has extended beyond solo classical work--I've been in multiple indie rock/folk bands and have written solo music as well.
