FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat, all inclusive hourly rate for my services. Depending on the scope of the project, ordering and/or management and oversight fees may vary.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial consultation typically consists of a 1 hr meeting at your project site to review the scope of work, brainstorm ideas, and to take pictures and measurements. My work after that is broken into phases, which also depend on the scope of work. The phases are typically planning, design & production, and purchasing. Planning consists of sketching layouts, and gathering initial inspiration images. In design & production scaled drawings, renderings, and story boards are put together so you can better visualize the finished space. Finally the purchasing stage is putting together the sourcing guides, final budget, and ordering.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice when searching for a professional is to make sure you feel comfortable communicating with that professional and that he or she is a great listener. When it comes to my field of work, I find that coming up with and implementing a successful design is a product of collaboration between the designer and the client. At the end of the day, the client is the one using the space, so the space needs to one that they feel just as much pride in as the designer.
