This customer had a friend refer an HVAC company to install thousands of dollars worth of equipment in their home. When hit with a cold day their furnaces were having issues igniting and firing as well as their heat pumps having communication issue's with the thermostat. At the time of the first service call. This customer was in a rush to get back to work mentioned he had no problem paying what it takes and that he would forward the bill to his friend who referred the first company to get the work done right. We took home equipment information to get well equipped for the task at hand in finding out the operations of their equipment researched and scheduled appointments with technical support. Re-scheduled and went to their home a few days later. Found out at the home that the furnaces were never fired and the thermostats were not reading the equipment properly because they were never tested all communication equipment expect air conditioning failing. Very technical took approximately two hours with tech support for just this issue to help on four separate units two furnaces and two heat pumps. After figuring out all of this we got the furnaces to turn on noticing major issues. The biggest issue. The referred company left their exhaust system just exhausting into their basement of their home could have been deadly we gave him the price with all the repairs, our labor and over head to get him fixed correctly. We cleaned his fire place and he was having pressure issues with his gas we didn’t even charge him for this. Here is our scope of work -6 hours total -2 technicians -replaced and revented flu pipe. Including travel for materials and overhead costs for tools. -broke gas adjusted gas pressures at furnaces and turned on furnaces -tested for gas leaks -got communication equipment communicating properly with one another. -changed filters. - warned customer of potential leaking hazard for non drain in pan in attic. -cleaned fire place free of dirt and debris and cleaned sensors. Unfortunately we cannot please every customer and some will try and take advantage of a small business. This seems to be the case here. It’s just a shame getting this review after saving him and his family from possible carbon monoxide poising or possible death in their home. As far as him saying I’ll pay whatever it takes I guess he meant whatever he thought it would take. Now being that he’s not in the HVAC industry he doesn’t know. He’s just been upset from the first company who left him up and dry for multiple months and with multiple issues he’s just taking it out on us. So he should’ve reached out to the original installers and company if he could not afford this. We don’t also get paid just for what we do we also get paid for what we’ve been know.
