FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
With 2-3 sessions, most clients achieve remarkable results, addressing leash pulling, obedience, reactivity, aggression, resource guarding, recall, and separation anxiety. Our rates are transparent and budget-friendly: $275 for the first session, $225 for follow-ups, and an all-inclusive E-Collar Package for $875 (includes 3 sessions + E-Collar).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our training process involves 5 steps: UNDERSTAND CHALLENGES & YOUR GOALS First, we learn about the challenges you are facing and your big goal for our training. Some owners have a dream of simply walking down the street, others aspire to do an off-leash hike with their dog. No matter the objective, we can tailor the session to achieve those goals. DECIDE ON LOCATION Once we’ve learned more about your objectives, we determine the best place to hold the training session. Depending on the behavior challenges and your goals, we may meet at your home, at a local park, the dog park – the aim is to work in the environment where the challenges can be observed live. ASSESSMENT At your one-on-one session, we’ll seek out those situations that pose the biggest challenge. This could be walking by “that one house” in your neighborhood with the dogs or perhaps it is greeting house guests. After observing the behavior in real time, we can quickly get to work! GET TO WORK We suggest an action plan that includes a variety of tools, techniques and methods that will best help reduce the misbehavior and get you closer to achieving your goals. You’re in the driver seat, so we make sure you are comfortable and feel confident employing any tools and methods we recommend. TEACH YOU THE SKILLS After we establish a tool set and action plan, we build a new foundation and turn the leash over to you. Our training focuses on giving you the skills you need to ensure you can keep up the success once the trainer has gone home. Here are a few of the common behaviors we work on during our 1-on-1 sessions. The severity of the behavior will dictate the number of sessions required, but most clients work with us for 2-3 sessions. Pulling While On Leash Learning Sit, Down, Stay & Here Holding Commands Phobias Rude Greeting Manners Aggression Issues (human and dog) eCollar Training/Remote Collar Training Highly Distracted Behavior Separation Anxiety Over-excitement In the first session, I assess the dog in person. As I start to get inside the dogs head we'll begin to work, and I'll start providing you with insights into the behavior. We may begin with a walk, or start with some obedience (sit, follow, and/or place), or simply start working on impulse control. From there I build out a custom program to positively transform your dogs behavior, attitude, and obedience.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our trainers have worked with hundreds of dogs, and have seen it all! We're no stranger to animal psychology texts and lectures. However, Chill Out Dog Training has found that highly effective trainers are those with real life experience!
