My approach to dance instruction is about working both inside out and outside in! Classes combine both technical and somatic based exercises based on the student's needs. With over 15 years of dance training and immersion, I have witnessed the joy dance brings to our lives!
Belly Dance:
This dance is a great low-impact way to get in touch with your body! I began training in Salimpour based bellydance technique at the age of 12 and by 15 was in a traveling dance troupe named Sattya.
In 2018 I worked at Los Angles Belly Dance Academy and was immersed in Egyptian Style. I began teaching and performing with Stefanya at events and festivals in Southern California.
Brazilian Zouk & Lambada
I fell in love lambada and Brazilian Zouk in 2014 and have since been exploring its depths. I then produced & hosted LA’s only Lambada & Zouk social, ENERGIA in 2018. That same year I began collaborating with Jerry Lai to continue expanding his pedagogy, Deconstructing Zouk with the goal of creating versatile and connected dancers. To cultivate freedom of movement and safety in social dance for followers, I also created The Efficient Follow curriculum available. Together we went on tour to teach both programs in London, Washington DC, Warsaw, Paris, and are now teaching online! In 2019 I became certified as a Judge for the Brazilian Zouk Council and scored my first intermediate competition at Reno Latin Dance Fest.
Salsa
I began dancing salsa at the age of 12! I offer classes in rueda casino, on 1 and on 2!
