- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
They will never see an unknown increase on my budget unless if they add things not written in a contract. Other than that, I will never add anything to my customers or increase my budget because of any price increase. What I promised will cost to my customers, it will. To me, honesty is more important than aggravating my customers with extra costs. I think every contractor should work for the benefit of the customers, not the other way around.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Understanding their needs first, be upfront with their expectations and budget and to have a good plan so there are no unknowns during the project. Many projects go south because either the contractor doesn’t understand the expectations from customers or customers see many DIY projects and think everything is as easy on tv.
