Alan is an absolute expert. He found out as much about the problems I was having with my appliances in advance of the appointment, including the model numbers and came prepared with the items to resolve the issue right away. He talked me through the diagnosis and repair respectfully and gave me ample opportunity to ask questions about the problem. Even though my dryer tried to give him trouble, he was done very quickly with the repair. The cost was more than fair and I will reach out again if I have further appliance issues. This was the second time I’ve used Alan and he will always be my go to appliance repairman. Alan was able to come out on very short notice to repair my washing machine. I mentioned another problem I had noticed with it and he was able to diagnose and fix that also. I’m very grateful to have found him through Thumbtack.

Alan is the best appliance technician you could ask for! And you know who’ll you’re going to get to fix your appliance, he is the sole technician at his company.
I know how important that is, because I once worked for a large appliance repair company, taking calls. I was trained to always tell the customer “Yes” to all of their questions, whether it was true or not, i.e. Does the tech have the parts I might need on the truck? Has the tech worked on my appliance before? Does the tech have several years of experience? Many times, none of it was true, and we never checked to see if the tech we sent had the parts they might need. It’s all a scam to get the job.
Next, Alan opened a sealed box in front of me containing the part he was going to install, so I knew it was not a used part (another typical scam). After completing the repair, he checked every other part (damper, thermostat etc.) before giving my frig a “clean bill of health”. And he gave me time to clean the freezer before he put it all back together. This of course delayed the completion of the job, but he allowed it anyway.
And finally, the next day when my ice maker was not making ice, he told me over the phone (at no charge) what I needed to do, and of course, of it worked.
I am a woman living alone and both car and appliance techs are notorious for cheating people like me, guessing we don’t know anything and will believe anything they tell us. I am telling all of my friends to use Alan whenever they need an appliance repaired!

Alan was able to quickly diagnose the problem with our broken Whirlpool dishwasher and talked me through what was wrong and what needed to be replaced. He was honest about the cost of the repairs verses buying a new one. He as able to replace the motor in our dishwasher and get it repaired quickly at a time that was convenient for me and my family. I appreciated being able to book his services in the app directly and that he showed up on time. Alan was super professional and made me feel at ease while he was doing the repairs. He completed the work quickly and left the area clean. I would absolutely use Alan’s repair services and he is the best repair man I have found through this app. 10/10 job, thanks Alan!
