I cannot speak highly enough of Kristen Hobbs with Inspired Whims. Kristen is the whole package including professional, confident, and equally important easy to work with. She does an outstanding job and works within a given budget and within a designated timeframe. I could not be happier with her results of designing and decorating 3 bedrooms. Kristen listened and incorporated existing furniture and art pieces. Kristen’s attention to detail and her sense of design was exceptional. Kristen created design boards with different options for each bedroom, emailed design boards for us to review, make changes, and decide. This certainly made the 3 bedrooms project an easy and smooth process plus with Kristen communicating with us throughout the whole process. Kristen went above and beyond initiating contact with reliable contractors for garage and multiple door projects which all turned out exceptional. We are super excited to start Phase 2 and get to work and spend time with Kristen.

Kristen is passionate about design and helping her clients find just the right pieces of furniture, artwork, rugs, and accessories to make a house a home. I feel like my style is traditional with some touches of modern and Kristen has assisted in finding pieces that will fit perfectly in our new home. She wants to help save money, but you don’t loose the vision or quality. She is wonderful at finding the inspiration pieces to build a room off of and understands colors well. I would highly recommend Kristen to help design a full home, a part of a home, or a room. She has done room boards for my two children’s nurseries, helped pick all the selections in our home we are building now, and has found some amazing pieces of furniture and accessories to decorate it. All the spaces are gorgeous! Once we move into our house I will be eager to share pictures of all the spaces Kristen invested her wealth of knowledge and skill into.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is very competitive. I'm happy to discuss discounts for longer projects.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will talk with my client(s) to get an idea of their likes/dislikes and purpose for a space. I will visit the space to measure and get eyes-on, then come up with a comprehensive vision board with recommended design options including sourcing of the items. I can assist with paint color choices and specialize in artwork sourcing and light fixtures. I’m also happy to assist with recommendations on installers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a certified interior decorator (CID) for 15 years. I’ve designed and decorated a multitude of homes and income properties over the years, increasing the value of many homes come time for resale.
